Heart Glandular for dogs and cats is the Best source of natural nutrients for the heart like taurine and carnitine. Since commercial processed pet food ingredients are generally deficient in taurine and other nutrients, the addition of laboratory synthesized vitamins is common - just look at the bottom half of any pet food label. However, heart glandular provides these nutrients and more in a whole food form from grass-fed, New Zealand cows! Providing glandulars for our dogs and cats is one of the simplest, safest and effective Holistic modalities available to us. Essentially, the science behind the use of a heart glandular, is that glands, when taken internally, support and nourish the corresponding gland/organ in the body.
We highly recommend that you restrict all of your dog or cat organ supplementation to pastured, or at the very least, grass-finished animals. It is particularly important to consume animals raised on pasture and fed a biologically appropriate diet, which virtually eliminates their risk of various diseases common in confined animal feeding operations, as well as many other dangerous contaminants. Our heart glandular supplement consists of freeze dried, certified pure New Zealand glandular tissue from free-range, antibiotic and hormone free cows (porcine-free!).
In the wild, the ingestion of glands is a very important part of an animal's nutrition and glandular supplementation is obviously missing from the majority of domesticated animals' diets. In traditional cultures, animal organs and glands were considered the most essential foods. Now, in modern times, scientists have shown that proteins specific to individual organs selectively travel to the corresponding organs of the animal consuming them. In this case, the dog or cat consuming heart glandular will benefit from fat and water soluble vitamins, enzymes, proteins, co-factors and omega 3 fatty acids that will help support the corresponding organ or gland, in this case the heart!

How Do Glandular Supplements for Pets Work?
Glandular therapies involve feeding glands, organs or tissues from healthy animals to dogs and cats. Supplements are given either as fresh tissue or as tissue extracts in the hope that the supplement contains constituents that will help improve the function of the corresponding organ in the animal. One of the basic concepts of glandular therapy is that the oral ingestion of glandular material of a certain animal gland will strengthen the corresponding dog or cat gland. The result is a broad general effect indicative of improved glandular function. Thus, glandular therapy increases the tone, function, and/or activity of the corresponding gland.
Do Studies Show Glandular Supplements for Pets are Effective?
Radioactive and dye studies have demonstrated that nutrients from a glandular supplement are routinely absorbed intact or only partially degraded, and that these constituents can concentrate in target tissues. Laboratory studies have documented a more rapid uptake of tagged cells or their components by traumatized organs than normal organs, leading to enhanced healing rates. These observations have lead to the resurgence of interest in glandular supplementation for dogs and cats.
How safe are Glandular Supplements for Pets?
There are no apparent side effects with this form of supplementation. The safe, natural, whole food doses of supplemental nutrients have a beneficial effect on various health problems associated with glandular insufficiency.
